2026 Sport Calendar

Artistic Swimming
– Meadow Lake Aquatic Centre
– February 15-18
– Team Size: Minimum 1, maximum 10 individuals on co-ed team; 2 coaches/managers (1 of which must be female)
– Age Classification: 2008-2014 inclusive

Badminton
– Carpenter High School
– February 18-21
– Team Size: 5 males, 5 females, 2 coaches/managers
– Age Classification: U19 – born 2009 or later
– Coach/Manager Applications: TBA
– Athlete Tryouts: District team selection will be managed by Sask Badminton. Districts are to have two trials/camps which are to be a round robin tournament for singles only. The top five players after a round robin play will determine the District Team, plus alternates. Further details to come.

Biathlon

– Team Size:  3 males, 3 females, 2 coaches/managers
– Age Classification: 11 – 14 YOA (OB 2012-2015)

– Athlete Tryouts: District team selection will be managed by Biathlon Sask. Athletes will be selected through District qualification trials, prior to which they must have received instruction from an NCCP trained or certified Biathlon coach. A Sask Cup Race in December 2025 is planned for Districts to use as a qualification event to select teams. Each District may also select teams internally using their own criteria. Bowling – Special Olympics

– Team Size: 5 athletes — teams are not subject to a given male/female ratio and can be exclusively male or female; 1 coach, 1 manager
– Age Classification: 10 – 30 YOA (DOB: 1996-2016)

– Athlete Tryouts: District team selection will be managed by Special Olympics Saskatchewan. All teams must submit a complete team roster with the Provincial Office by November 30, 2025. Any team member listed on the final team roster must have participated in the District Qualifying Competition. Further details to come.

Curling
– Meadow Lake Curling Club
– Male: February 15-18
– Female: February 18-21
– Team Size:
      Male Team: 4 athletes, 1 coach, 1 manager
Female Team: 4 athletes, 1 coach, 1 manager
– Managers are only required when the coach for the men’s team is female, or the coach for the women’s team is male; in this instance, a team manager of the same gender will be appointed to the team in question. One certified coach is required per team.
– Age Classification: 11 – 17 YOA (born on or after January 1, 2009)

– Athlete Tryouts: District team selection will be managed by CURLSASK. Each team must register its four players and coach with the CURLSASK online registration by the Entry Deadline (January 2, 2026 at 12:00 noon) and declare which club they will represent for the competition. District Playdowns will be held on January 10/11 or January 17/18 2026, with sites, final dates, draws, and times to be announced. Further details to come.

Figure Skating

– Team Size: 4 males, 10 females, 2 coaches, 1 manager
– Age Classification: All Singles and Dance categories must meet minimum test requirements as outlined under Eligibility section of the Technical Package. Competitors must be at a minimum 10 years old and no older than 17 years of age as of July 1st, 2025.

– Athlete Tryouts: District team selection will be managed by Skate Canada – Saskatchewan. District teams will be announced on or before December 20, 2025. Additional details are available on page 8 of the Technical Package. Further details to come.

– Team Size: 12 males, 12 females, 2 coaches and 1 manager per team
– Age Classification:
      Saskatoon and Regina players: Birth years 2011 or 2012
All other District players: Birth years 2010, 2011 or 2012

– Athlete Tryouts: District team selections will be managed by Sask Soccer. Districts will hold open trials in order to select their teams for the Games. The dates, times and venues of these open trials will be communicated to all registered players in the District through the Saskatchewan Soccer Association and SSA Member Organizations a minimum of two weeks prior to the trials. – Age Classification: 11 – 15 YOA (2011-2014)

– Athlete Tryouts: District team selections will be managed by Judo Sask. District playdowns/tryouts will be scheduled to occur between January 5 and January 16, 2026, with a one-week buffer on either side if necessary. These will be structured in a round robin format with the top two athletes in each weight division competing in a best two out of three for the final. Further details to come.
