Celebrating the Power of Reading!
With Saskatchewan Library Week coming this October, it’s a great time to celebrate the incredible impact of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. https://imaginationlibrary.com/ca/
Dolly launched the program in 1995, inspired by her father, who was unable to read and write. Today, the Imagination Library mails free books every month to children from birth to age five.
The program has gifted more than 270 million books worldwide.
Canada became its first international partner in 2006, and in 2026 the Imagination Library celebrated 20 years in Canada and more than 5 million books gifted to Canadian children!
As Saskatchewan Library Week approaches, it’s a wonderful reminder of the difference books can make — inspiring a love of reading that can last a lifetime.
