Rivers West District would like to welcome the two newest members of our Board of Directors, Crystal Imrie and Chris Keleher.
Crystal is originally from the Slave Lake, Alberta area and took her professional training at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta. After convocating from the U of A, Crystal accepted the position of Recreation Director with the Kyle Recreation Board (1999-2001). From 2000 to 2009, Crystal was a Board member and Chairperson on the Wild Goose Recreation Association Board. During the amalgamation of the 4 organizations that would eventually become the Rivers West District for Sport, Culture and Recreation, Crystal worked on the Rivers West District Building Better Communities committee which oversaw the smooth transition from 4 separate organizations into the organization that we are today. Crystal has also been employed by Heartland Health Region as the Active Living Coordinator and owned and operated her own business in Kyle. Crystal recently returned to the Recreation Director position in Kyle and we are very happy to have her "re-join" our Board!
Chris is originally from Guelph, Ontario and took his professional Sports Management training at Lambton College in Sarnia, Ontario. After graduating from Lambton College, Chris worked at HockeyTech as their Western Canadian Coordinator, City of Guelph in Arena Operations and at at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Wilcox, Saskatchewan as the Hockey Program Recruiter/Camp Coordinator. Most recently, Chris has been hired as the Recreation Director for the Town of Eston. Chris' volunteer history includes being a Board Member for the Village of Wilcox Recreation Board and both Assistant Coach and Head Coach in the Saskatchewan Hockey Association Sask First Program. Chris has recently joined our Aboriginal Community Sport Grant Program adjudication committee.
The Board and Staff of Rivers West District look forward to working with both Crystal and Chris to make Rivers West District the best place to live, work and play!
